Financial Analyst

Change Financial Services are supporting our client to hire a Finance Analyst to their business partnering team in Edinburgh. A great role covering both costs and income, the successful applicant will be responsible for owning the reporting across a range of products that the bank provide.

The client is looking for an analytically minded part qualified or recently qualified accountant who is able to blend reviewing the balance sheet and commercial inputs for the products within their remit with the ability to engage with the business, both finance and non finance staff to create and craft commentary on key messages. Core duties of the role will cover the following;

Responsible for month end reporting across a range of products, producing management information on performance and key variances to plan
Investigating key movements and trends to craft a narrative to support analysis, decision making and performance
Preparing monthly management information, ensuring reconciliations performed to verify budget to actuals
Analysis of income and revenue generators
Posting of adjustments and owning journal and general ledgers postings for your area
Use of excel and other tools for analysis purposes
Strong communication skills are essential

The role will suit an individual working in a commercial analysis role currently or management accounts, who is looking for ownership in their role and seeing both cost and income. Due to the nature of the products, outputs will be relatable and can be affected by real time events, adding to the complexity and dynamic of the role. Experience gained in Financial Services and other sectors will be welcomed, where transferable skills exist.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + Benefits
Hybrid working: 1 / 2 days in the office based in Edinburgh
