Financial Controller

Financial Controller | Central London / Hybrid working  | PE Backed Environment | £70 - 80k + Bonus

A dynamic and forward-thinking business headquartered in Central London is seeking an experienced and technically strong Financial Controller to join its senior leadership team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to lead a small finance function within a PE backed environment, playing a key role in driving financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and supporting commercial decision making at board level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full ownership of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Overseeing statutory accounts, tax compliance, and audit coordination
• Leading and developing a small, high performing finance team
• Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to provide actionable insights
• Ensuring strong internal controls and process improvements
• Managing payroll oversight and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Driving continuous improvement of systems and reporting tools
  

About You:

• Professionally qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with a solid foundation in technical accounting
• Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally as a Financial Controller
• Background in accounting practice or structured graduate finance program
• Experience within a B2B services environment is preferred
• Comfortable managing P&L responsibility for businesses with £10m+ turnover
• Detail driven and hands-on, with a collaborative approach to team leadership
• Strong communicator, confident engaging with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Commercially astute, proactive, and solution focused
• Demonstrates consistency and longevity in previous roles
• Technically adept, with solid systems knowledge - experience with Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks is a plus
• Ideally experienced within a PE backed or high growth business environment
