The Role
In this highly visible role, you will be a key support to an outstanding SLT, supporting decision-making through financial insight, modelling, and analysis. You’ll lead the stock costing function and take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning across a multi-faceted operation.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Leading the stock costing process, ensuring accurate and timely cost information for effective margin analysis and product decision-making.
Owning and continuously refining the stock cost model, ensuring it reflects key cost drivers such as labour, materials, and energy.
Delivering robust budgeting and forecasting processes, including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and cash flow plans.
Preparing and presenting monthly performance analysis and management reports, highlighting risks and opportunities.
Providing insight into key business metrics (e.g., profitability, efficiency, operating gearing) to drive informed strategic decisions.
About You
We're looking for a hands-on leader who’s equally comfortable in the detail and looking to develop more strategic skills. You’ll need to be someone who understands performance drivers and who will help bring clarity and challenge to the decision-making process.
You’ll Bring:
A professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
Strong commercial acumen with experience in financial modelling, reporting and decision support
People management skills with a collaborative leadership style
Advanced Excel and comfort with reporting tools and systems
Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail
A proactive, questioning mindset — someone who will dig deep to understand how the business really works
