Financial Controller

Job title: Financial Controller (VP level)

Location: Frankfurt Germany

Salary: €105k - €120k

We are partnered with a Global Bank who are looking for a Financial Controller join their Frankfurt Team to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance of financial reporting. This role will focus on overseeing financial controls, month-end close, trial balance preparation, and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the Financial Reporting Control framework in line with German regulatory and compliance standards.
• Lead the month-end financial close process, including preparation of the Trial Balance.
• Coordinate the drafting and completion of the annual report under German GAAP.
• Contribute to projects aimed at improving financial processes, transparency, and reporting quality.
• Prepare and deliver reporting packs for governance bodies, such as the Finance & Tax Committee and Management Board.
• Understand and ensure compliance with local regulatory reporting requirements, including monitoring updates.
• Coordinate internal and external audit preparations, providing well-documented financial data and analysis.

You will need:

• Fluency in written and spoken German, with strong business communication skills.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles under IFRS and German GAAP.
• Good understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and a desire to develop further expertise.
• Ability to manage projects and drive process improvements.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
• Team player who thrives in an international and diverse environment.
