Job Description - Financial Controller

? Financial Controller – Newly Qualified | Hybrid – Tyne & Wear | £45,000 – £55,000 + Benefits ?

Are you a newly qualified accountant with ambition, commercial instinct, and the drive to shape your future as a finance leader?

Join an up-and-coming, fast-paced business in Tyne & Wear that’s on a strong growth trajectory. We’re seeking a Financial Controller to work closely with a high-calibre leadership team, gain full exposure across the business, and play a pivotal role in driving performance and decision-making.

?? The Opportunity
You’ll work directly with the senior management team across operations, commercial and strategy. This is not a back-office reporting role—it’s about real business partnering, problem-solving, and helping steer the company forward.

Key Responsibilities:

Take ownership of monthly management accounts, forecasts, and cashflows
Partner with commercial and operational teams to deliver insight and challenge
Support strategic projects including system improvements, pricing models and cost analysis
Develop and implement internal controls and reporting improvements
Assist with budgeting, year-end audit, and board reporting

? What We’re Looking For

Newly qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or finalist with strong experience)
Excellent analytical and communication skills
A proactive, commercially minded attitude—ready to learn and contribute
A strong sense of ownership and ambition to grow into a senior leadership role
