Financial Controller

A leading manufacturing company based in Bradford is seeking a skilled and strategic Financial Controller to join its leadership team. This is a pivotal role, offering the opportunity to work closely with the Managing Director and play a key part in driving the financial performance and long-term success of the business.

About the Role:

The Financial Controller will take full ownership of the finance function, providing accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making at the highest level. Acting as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will help shape strategy, ensure financial compliance, and lead the budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all day-to-day financial operations, including month-end and year-end processes
• Prepare and present detailed financial reports and forecasts to the Managing Director and board
• Lead the preparation of annual budgets and manage cash flow and working capital
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal financial policies
• Drive process improvements and cost control initiatives across the business
• Manage and develop a small finance team, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Liaise with external auditors, banks, and other financial stakeholders

Candidate Profile:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience.
• Strong background in manufacturing or related industry highly desirable
• Excellent analytical skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
• Commercially minded, with the ability to contribute to business strategy
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
