Financial Controller

We are working with a fast-growing logistics and operations business with a turnover of approximately £20 million, based in Knowsley. With a strong reputation for efficiency and service, we are now looking for a commercially-minded Financial Controller to join the leadership team and help drive the next phase of growth.

Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with senior leaders, the Financial Controller will oversee all financial operations. You will deliver clear financial insight, ensure compliance, and support the strategic direction of the business.

£70-80,000

• Prepare monthly management accounts, board reports, and KPI packs

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning

• Provide financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions

• Manage and develop a small finance team

• Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements

• Improve finance systems, processes, and controls

• Partner with operational teams to enhance cost control and performance

• Support investment decisions and capital planning

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

• Experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager, ideally in logistics or operations

• Commercially focused with strong analytical skills

• Proven team leadership and development capabilities

• Confident in financial systems and Excel; ERP experience a plus

• Excellent communication and business partnering skills
