Financial Controller

My client is a specialist engineering business with a strong reputation and excellent client base. Due to growth an exciting opportunity has been identified for a capable and commercial Finance Professional to suppoer the Finance Director.

The role will be varied and whilst strongly finance based, will also have exposure to and duties including broader commercial duties such as cost and ad hoc analysis. Duties will include, but not be limited to:-

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and associated variance analysis
• Preparation of project accounts and liaison with the commercial department
• Balance sheet management and control
• Cashflow forecasting and budgeting - for the business and for specific projects
• Liaison with departments across the business and clients
• Bank liaison and relationship management including account reconciliations
• Assisting in the support and development of an enthusiastic and committed finance team

The successful candidate will be bright, inquisitive, have strong accounting & finance foundations and be able to show real commerciality. You will also be:-

• Qualified (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
• Be able to take responsibility in a hands on role
• Have good systems skills - strong excel is a given, ERP experience such as Sage 200 or similar is an advantage
• Be comfortable in an office and site based role
• Be keen to further develop their career under a proven mentor
