Financial Controller

Basildon, Essex | Up to £70,000 | Monday to Friday | 8:00am to 5:30pm

One to One Personnel is proud to partner with a forward thinking, innovative manufacturing business in Basildon. Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced and qualified Financial Controller/Company Accountant who will manage company budgets, process reviews, support the continuous improvement strategy of finance systems and processes, and cover financial, regulatory, and internal accounting delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance/accountancy and be fully qualified in ACA, ACCA, CIMA. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be proficient in advanced Microsoft Office systems.

To be considered for this role you must have at least 5 years UK based work experience.

Your Impact

• Lead financial and management reporting, audits, and compliance
• Take ownership of budgets, cashflow forecasting, and gross profit analysis
• Oversee payroll and subcontractor payments (VAT, PAYE, CIS)
• Drive continuous improvement of financial systems and controls
• Manage internal finance projects and ensure timely delivery
• Support ongoing review of systems, processes, procedures and controls
• Mentor and lead a motivated finance team

What we’re looking for

• Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• A minimum of 5 years’ UK-based finance experience
• Hands-on, solutions-focused, and commercially astute
• Excellent communicator with advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Strong leadership and people management experience
• Experience in manufacturing or engineering sectors
• Familiarity with ERP/Finance system upgrades or process automation

• Uphold GDPR and health & safety regulations
