This privately owned group of companies based in Harrogate is looking for a Financial Controller to support the owner with both the numbers and the bigger picture. The group spans multiple businesses, so there's variety baked in. No two weeks will feel the same.

The salary is up to £70,000, with flexibility depending on what you bring to the table. You'll be based on-site in Harrogate most of the time, but with enough flexibility to work around life when you need to. There's a supportive senior team already in place, but the owner wants someone who can hold their own in the boardroom and the detail.

As Financial Controller, you'll be hands-on with the stat accounts, cashflow, forecasting and reporting. You'll manage a small team, refine processes, and provide commercial support to the owner across all businesses. There's scope here to shape strategy, not just report on it.

You'll need a good handle on technical accounting, but just as important is your ability to explain things clearly to non-finance people. Ideally, you'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), but if you've got the experience and can show you've worked closely with business owners or MDs before, we'd still like to hear from you.
