Financial Controller

Accountable Recruitment are partnering with an award-winning business based in Merseyside to recruit a Financial Controller. This is a newly created role following a period of extensive growth. The successful candidate will work closely with the MD to shape the future of the business through strategic planning, commercial accounting and sound financial management.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring strong financial governance and performance.
• Oversee all revenue streams and maintain accurate and reliable financial ledgers.
• Own the month-end close process, including full P&L and balance sheet reporting.
• Drive the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
• Provide strategic insight on pricing, costing, and business performance.
• Manage banking relationships, funding arrangements, and cash flow forecasting.
• Liaise with external partners (auditors, insurers, landlords, etc.) to support financial operations.
• Deliver timely, accurate monthly reporting to the MD, Board, and SLT.
• Guide business-wide cash, sales, pricing, and cost control strategies.
• Support budget holders in understanding variances and improving financial performance.
• Champion robust financial controls and support decision-making across the business.

Skills Required:

• CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified.
• Strong systems knowledge, with advanced level Excel and experience in system implementation or improvements.
• Strong commercial background, demonstrating the ability to support and influence decision making.
• Experience within a multi-company and multi-currency structure.
