Financial Controller

Financial Controller | Liverpool (hybrid)| £60,000 - £65,000

Talentedge is supporting a well-established and growing £20m turnover business in finding a Financial Controller to take ownership of their finance function. This is a permanent role, open to offering 4 or 5 days a week.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the efforts of the financial team and ensuring KPIs are met; conduct all financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting and provide advice to the Directors on financial plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide financial expertise to assist the company in its plan to grow.
• Adapt the accounting systems in line with requirements within an evolving Group Structure.
• Oversee month-end process to ensure monthly management accounts are issued by deadlines and presented to the board.
• Prepare, and continue to evolve, a suite of financial reports that meet the changing needs of the business.
• Analyse the financial impact of important business investments (e.g. property purchases, acquisitions, etc.) and provide detailed reports to the directors.
• Budgeting and forecasting including cost reduction analysis.
• Standard costing and sales pricing analysis.
• Cash flow forecasting and daily bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support year-end close process and audits.
• Supervise and performance manage financial staff – sales and purchase ledger.
• Work with Purchasing team to prepare currency hedging plan.
• Maintain external support from tax, legal and bank.
• Update and maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
• Quarterly VAT returns.
• Review and approve monthly staff expenses / payroll deductions.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Ensure that the company is kept up to date with any changes in legislation.

Benefits & package:

• Salary: £60,000 - £65,000
• 31 days holiday including bank holidays
• Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm (1 hour lunch)
• 4 day week considered (salary will be pro-rata)

To be considered for this role, you will have strong Excel skills, have ideally worked in a business that imports/exports products and be qualified (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) or qualified by experience (QBE).
