Job Description - Financial Controller

Our Client and the Role

We are supporting a Watford-based business recruiting a Financial Controller. This is a newly-created position which sees you working closely with senior finance and offers great exposure across the business. It's a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on finance professional looking to grow in a dynamic and creative environment.

Main Duties

Take ownership of day-to-day financial operations, including bank reconciliations, journals, and balance sheet management
Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all ledgers and entities
Support the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring all compliance and reporting standards are met
Lead and mentor junior finance staff, ensuring high-quality transactional processing (AP/AR)
Partner with the Finance Director to support wider forecasting, budgeting, and process improvement initiatives, maintaining and strengthening internal controls

The Successful Candidate

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
Strong audit background (ideally from a Top 10 firm)
Technical grounding, with experience in management and financial reporting
Previous team management experience, including oversight of transactional staff
Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Strong Excel skills and systems experience
Media or Production industry exposure is a bonus

Salary range £70,000 - £80,000
