Financial Controller - ACA qual, media sector
£120-140K + bonus + benefits | Hybrid, London

We’re working with a fast-growing media business to hire a commercially-minded Financial Controller into a key leadership position. This is a newly created role reporting to the CFO, perfect for a technically strong ACA with a commercial edge and an appetite for building in a dynamic, creative environment.

About the role
You’ll take ownership of financial operations across the group, leading a small team and partnering closely with department heads and the leadership team. The remit covers everything from overseeing the monthly close to driving insight into performance, shaping financial processes, and managing audits. This is a hands-on role with real strategic influence.

What you’ll do

· Own day-to-day finance operations: monthly closes, reporting, controls, reconciliations

· Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning

· Business partner with creative and commercial teams to challenge spend and shape strategy

· Manage statutory accounts and year-end audit process

· Oversee VAT, payroll, and company filings with support from external advisors

· Work with the CFO on commercial insight, board reporting, and investor materials

· Improve systems and processes as the business scales

· Manage and develop a team of 2-3 finance professionals

About you

· ACA qualified (Big 4 or top 10), ideally with first move or in-house experience

· Strong technical grounding - UK GAAP/IFRS, statutory accounts, controls

· Experience managing a finance function end-to-end in a fast-paced environment

· Excellent communication skills - confident presenting to senior stakeholders

· Able to work across creative, commercial and operational teams

· Proactive, hands-on, and excited by the pace and variety of a media/creative business
