Financial Controller

In this newly created Financial Controller role, you’ll take ownership of the numbers and play a crucial part in steering the business through its next phase, whether that’s supporting due diligence or influencing strategic decisions as a future SLT member.
This is a hands-on role in a growing SME where your voice matters. Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for:

• Producing accurate monthly management accounts and analysis
• Reporting on P&L, job costing (labour/materials) and WIP
• Leading month-end close and preparing board packs for review
• Supporting Directors with strategic planning and financial insight
• Playing a key role in due diligence and reporting
• Collaborating with the Finance Administrator to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly

What you will need:

• Previous experience in a similar role, such as Financial Controller / Finance Director / Head of Finance / Finance Manager / Management Accountant
• Qualified ( CIMA / ACCA / ACA ) or QBE with relevant experience
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot tables
• Experience of leading a business through a due dilligence process
• A background in construction / engineering / trades would be ideal but not essential
