Financial Controller

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a dynamic and forward-thinking Hampshire-based business that is seeking a Financial Controller to join them on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an immediately available, technically strong Financial Controller who enjoys a varied role.

About the Role:
The Financial Controller will oversee all aspects of the finance function. This position requires a hands-on accountant with a strong technical background and the ability to lead a small finance team.

Responsibilities of the Financial Controller include:

• Preparation of statutory accounts and financial reporting.
• Oversight of monthly management accounts and associated reporting packs.
• Delivery of management information and financial analysis.
• Liaising with external auditors, banks, and internal stakeholders across the business.
• Leading, mentoring, and developing a small finance team.
• Ensuring robust financial controls and processes are in place.
• Supporting strategic decision-making through accurate and timely reporting.

The successful Financial Controller:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Immediately available or available at short notice.
• Strong technical accounting skills, with experience in statutory and management reporting.
• Proven experience in leading a finance team.
