Job Description - Financial Controller

Dot have partnered exclusively with a fast-growing, £20m turnover UK subsidiary of a European group, to recruit a Financial Controller.

This is a key hire with full responsibility for the finance function. You'll report to the Group Finance Director and manage a team of four, covering all core finance operations while supporting the board with commercial insight and decision-making.

The business has a strong pipeline of major projects and significant growth planned over the next 2–3 years - so this role offers real scope to influence and shape how finance supports that expansion.

Key responsibilities:

Full monthly and year-end close, including journals, reconciliations, and reporting
Preparation of monthly management accounts and board packs
Ownership of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
Building and maintaining cashflow forecasts and liquidity planning
Preparation of statutory accounts and managing the audit process
Overseeing VAT returns and supporting corporation tax compliance
Business partnering with board and operational leaders - presenting financials, supporting planning and investment decisions
Leading and developing a team of 4
Reviewing and improving financial controls, processes, and reporting
Driving systems development and reporting improvements
Supporting appraisals of new business opportunities and investment planning

Key Requirements

ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
Experience in a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager role
Strong reporting and forecasting skills, with a good technical foundation
Commercially aware and confident engaging at board level
Proven team leadership experience
