Location: Poole, Dorset (On-site)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (DOE) + benefits

Talent Finance are supporting a fast-growing, product-led company in their search for a Financial Controller — someone commercially minded, hands-on, and ready to make a real impact.

Working closely with the Finance Director, you'll take the lead on day-to-day finance operations while playing a key role in shaping the function as the business continues to scale.

It’s a great opportunity for a Finance Manager or Qualified Accountant looking to step up into their first Financial Controller role, or someone already operating at that level who’s looking for broader ownership and a clear path forward.

What you’ll be doing:

• Managing statutory accounts and Companies House filings
• Owning the month-end close and delivering accurate, insightful management accounts
• Supporting the FD on finance projects and system/process improvements
• Running payroll, pensions, and associated reporting
• Preparing VAT returns (UK and EC) and maintaining HMRC compliance
• Leading balance sheet reconciliations and month-end activities
• Overseeing stock accounting, imports, and goods in transit
• Managing treasury (loans, FX, cashflow forecasting)
• Driving improvements in controls, processes, and documentation
• Overseeing credit control and contributing to credit policy

What we are looking for:

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified, or finalist with relevant experience
• Strong grounding in technical accounting and financial control
• Exposure to international operations is a bonus
• Confident with ERP systems and advanced Excel
• Comfortable rolling up your sleeves while contributing strategically
• Clear, confident communicator across all levels

Additional Info:

• Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience and qualifications
• 22 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 25 with service)
• On-site role
