Financial Controller

The Financial Controller will take the lead on statutory reporting and financial control, ensuring robust financial management across the organisation’s operations. This position offers the chance to make a strategic contribution while also managing the delivery of day-to-day financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate the preparation of group financial statements and the external audit process
• Manage and develop a finance team of 10, including five direct reports
• Oversee the general ledger, financial transactions, and fixed asset accounting
• Ensure an effective financial control framework and manage day-to-day treasury operations
• Lead on VAT, corporation tax, and the wider tax strategy
• Take responsibility for the annual rent-setting process
• Work closely with senior finance leadership and peers to embed best practice throughout the team

This position will report into a driven and highly knowledgeable Assistant Director of Finance and will benefit from flexible working arrangements. The Financial Controller vacancy would best suit someone who has experience working within a highly governed environment 6with knowledge of embedding tight financial controls and a mindset of continuous improvement.

Person Specification:

• Qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent)
• Proven track record of financial leadership in a regulated environment
• Strong understanding of financial control frameworks, accounting, and purchasing systems
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Demonstrated experience implementing or developing finance systems

This role is based in Redhill, Surrey, with a requirement to attend the office two days per week. Applications are under constant review before the closing date.
