Financial Controller, Entertainment Provider, Kent (3 Days Per week in the office), £70-£75,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-growing entertainment company specialising in iGaming. This is a unique chance to work directly alongside a supportive and experienced CFO who will act as both a mentor and a strategic guide. You'll not only contribute to the company's financial health but also gain hands-on experience in scaling a dynamic, entrepreneurial business.
About the Role
As Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the CFO with financial reporting, compliance, and commercial finance. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys being deeply involved in the day-to-day finance operations and is comfortable working cross-functionally across all areas of the business. The primary goal is to elevate the quality of financial reporting, control, and compliance as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee company bookkeeping and manage daily cash reconciliations
Process weekly payments to suppliers and prize winners
Maintain a rolling 12-week cash flow forecast
Ensure strong financial controls are in place and regularly reviewed
Prepare and process monthly payroll
Deliver accurate month-end reports, including variance analysis against budget
Collaborate with department heads to track and forecast budgets (marketing, product, technology, overheads)
Support quarterly bank reporting and ensure covenant compliance
Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with UK-adopted IFRS (simple group consolidation)
Coordinate and manage the annual external audit process
Oversee VAT and sales tax submissions
Manage all HMRC and Companies House filings
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly reforecasts
Help manage the company's financial and operational data repository
Candidate Profile
Qualified Accountant
Proven experience using cloud-based accounting systems, ideally Xero
Strong emotional intelligence; able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and suppliers from diverse backgrounds
Audit background or experience managing audit processes internally
Comfortable in a fast-paced, agile environment with the ability to adapt quickly and execute efficiently
A proactive problem-solver who is passionate about sharing financial insights and educating others
High level of integrity and discretion, particularly when handling sensitive data such as payroll
