Financial Controller

Are you an accomplished Financial Controller who has an appetite to help drive change across a growing SME?

A well-established and highly successful business based near Bishop’s Stortford are looking for a Financial Controller to help facilitate financial growth.

Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a hands-on, commercial role with real opportunity to shape and drive financial strategy as the company enters its next phase of growth.

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts
• Maintain and improve financial controls and reporting processes
• Supervise and mentor a small finance team across accounts payable, receivable, Management Accounts, and payroll
• Support strategic decision-making by providing insightful financial analysis
• Prepare statutory accounts and liaise with auditors and other external stakeholders
• Drive process improvements and contribute to wider business projects

As a Financial Controller you will be:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with proven post-qualification experience
• Strong financial control, budgeting and forecasting expertise
• Experience leading and developing a finance team
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels
