Financial Controller

Are you a hands-on finance leader looking for your next challenge? We’re supporting a privately owned, growing organisation in their search for a Financial Controller This is a pivotal role where you’ll take ownership of the finance function, ensuring robust financial control while driving forward strategy and supporting business growth.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with experience in statutory reporting, audit, tax compliance and management reporting. You’ll be confident operating at both a strategic and hands-on level – equally comfortable preparing management accounts as you are advising senior stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading the preparation of statutory accounts, management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Overseeing VAT, Corporation Tax and other compliance matters.
• Managing payroll, pensions, banking and company benefits.
• Driving improvements in systems, processes and controls.
• Supporting the wider business with financial insight and decision-making.
• Acting as a key contact for auditors, external advisors and stakeholders.

What we’re looking for:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally with exposure to both hands-on delivery and strategic input.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, tax and compliance.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
