Job Title: Financial Controller

Salary: Up to £62,000p/a, DOE

Location: Birkenhead

Here at HRGO, we are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller for a growing manufacturing and construction company, based in their head office, on the Wirral. The team are looking for someone who can lead the finance function day-to-day, strengthen reporting and controls, and provide commercial insight to support operational decision making.

Key responsibilities:

Leading and developing the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely outputs
Producing and improving management accounts, reporting packs and financial analysis
Supporting operational teams with cost control, margin analysis and decision support
Overseeing job costing, WIP and manufacturing/construction cost reporting
Managing cashflow forecasting and treasury activities
Maintaining robust compliance, processes and internal controls
Driving finance process improvements and supporting ERP/finance system projects
Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business

Skills & Requirements:

Proven experience in a senior finance role (Financial Controller / Finance Manager or similar)
Strong management accounting and financial reporting capability
Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with data and analysis
Practical, hands-on approach with a commercial mindset
CIMA/ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
Background in manufacturing and/or construction preferred
Exposure to ERP implementation or major finance systems change is beneficial
Experience in an SME/owner-managed environment advantageous
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing business
