Equifind is supporting a new, ultra-luxury boutique hotel in London, set to open in Spring 2026. As preparations intensify before construction begins, there is a need for a dedicated finance professional, prompting the recruitment of a Financial Controller.
The company was established specifically to launch this new hotel in central London. The project involves converting an existing private estate into a high-end luxury boutique guesthouse with various suites.
Reporting to the COO, you will manage all aspects of day-to-day finance, including accounting, budgeting, and transaction processing, ensuring adherence to all deadlines. You will implement and oversee appropriate financial controls, policies, and procedures, ensuring they operate effectively.
*The role will be based in central London and will require you to be office-based 1 day pw.
What will I be doing?
Provide accurate and effective financial analysis, guidance and support to management
Coordinate financial work with the development of business plans to ensure sustainability for organisational growth
Work with management to set and monitor quarterly and annual budgets
Accounts payable - processing of invoices and staff expenses, payment runs
Ownership of third-party payment relationships and systems, point of contact for resolving issues
Bank account postings for payments and receipts, monthly bank reconciliations (Xero based)
Weekly cashflow analysis, liquidity forecasting
Work with our accounting firm to produce summary management accounts, profit & loss and balance sheet, periodic reforecasts
Payroll and benefits administration, salary payments, posting relevant journals, liaise with outsourced payroll company
General office management – office orders and supplies ensuring appropriate cost control

What will make me successful in the role?
A minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in the finance team of a hotel or hospitality-based business
Strong technical accounting knowledge and excellent interpersonal skills
Qualified accountant, or working towards full qualification status
An ability to communicate financial issues to non-finance staff
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
