Financial Controller - AI-powered technology platform group

My client, Via. is a swipe-based, AI-powered recruitment platform transforming how people discover jobs.

Communicate Recruitment Solutions are working with VIA. on an exclusive retained basis as they seek to hire a commercially-minded Financial Controller.

This role will take ownership of Via.’s financial operations, controls, and reporting as they scale. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a pivotal role in a fast-moving, VC-leaning environment — combining hands-on delivery with strategic input across investor relations, SaaS metrics, unit economics, and commercial decision-making.

Backed by Private Equity, Via. are already generating real traction. Following our July 2025 launch, they are scaling rapidly in London, Manchester, and Birmingham — with 1 million candidate signups projected in the next 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Core Finance Leadership
• Own the month-end and year-end close across all group entities
• Oversee statutory accounts, compliance, tax, and audit readiness
• Build and maintain scalable controls and processes for a high-growth tech platform
• Commercial Finance & Planning
• Develop short- and long-term financial models, forecasts, and scenario plans
• Track and optimise CAC, LTV, runway, and margin across candidate and client growth loops
• Support CFO and leadership team on pricing, hiring, and strategic planning
• Investor & Board Reporting
• Prepare monthly board packs and investor updates
• Translate financial data into actionable insights and investor-grade storytelling
• Support future funding rounds and due diligence processes
• Team & Infrastructure
• Manage relationships with external accountants, lawyers, and software providers
• Set up finance tech stack integrations (e.g. Stripe, Xero, Cap table software)
• Build and lead a small finance team as the business scales

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 5-10 years’ post-qualification experience
• Prior experience in a high-growth, tech-enabled or VC-backed business preferred
• Comfortable owning the entire finance function from transactional to strategic
• Strong grasp of SaaS metrics, digital P&Ls, and startup operating models
• Calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and confident presenting to leadership and investors
• Passion for technology, startups, and building clean systems from scratch
