Talent Finance are looking for a driven and commercially minded finance professional to support the Finance Director and take ownership of day-to-day finance operations as Financial Controller for an evolving business.

This business have moved from its wholesale origins into a thriving international operation with strong consumer growth and increasing complexity. Finance is firmly embedded in the business, with a real focus on influence, impact and continuous improvement.

Ideal for someone stepping up into their first Financial Controller role, a Finance Manager or experienced Accountant ready and looking for broader responsibility and career progression.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Manage statutory accounts and Companies House filings
• Deliver accurate, timely monthly management accounts and insights
• Support the Finance Director on projects and systems improvements
• Handle payroll, pensions, and associated reporting
• Prepare UK and EC VAT returns and ensure full HMRC compliance
• Lead balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes
• Oversee stock accounting, including imports and goods in transit
• Supervise credit control and contribute to credit policy development
• Manage treasury functions; including loans, FX, and cashflow
• Enhance and document financial processes and controls

Experience and Core Skills:

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified, or a finalist with relevant experience
• Strong technical accounting and financial control knowledge
• Background in a product/stock-based business with significant stock volumes
• Experience in e-commerce, retail, or wholesale preferred; especially with international operations
• Hands-on and detail-focused with a commercial mindset
• Comfortable balancing operational tasks with strategic input
• Skilled in ERP systems and advanced Excel reporting
• Confident communicator across all levels of the business

Benefits and Remuneration:

• Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience and qualifications
• 22 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 25 with service)
