Financial Controller - SME - Hands On

Signet are working exclusively to recruit a hands on technical Financial Controller to drive the financial operations with responsibility for all financial accounting including statutory reporting and finance systems.

Reporting to the Finance Director you will be seen as the Technical Accounting Specialist

Key Responsibilities will include 

• Management of a team of 3 including, Payments, Income and Payroll
• Manage monthly ledger close process, including ensuring journals and reconciliations are completed
• Lead on preparation of annual statutory accounts, including financial statements and associated notes 
• Lead on external audit
• Maintain fixed asset register 
• Submission of regulatory returns 
• Oversee the monthly payroll process 

To Succeed in the role 

• Ideally ACA or ACCA / CIMA Qualified 
• Financial Accounting experience including preparing statutory statement and  FRS 102 
• Previous experience of working in a regulatory environment highly desirable 
• Excellent communication skills will be needed to build relationships with external and internal stakeholders 
• Good all round business accumen and an understanding of the role of the Finance department in adding value to operational decision making.
