Job Description - Financial Literacy Assistant

The BVI Financial Services Commission (“the Commission”) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its External Relations Unit (the ER Unit) as a Financial Literacy Assistant. The ER Unit is responsible for managing the Commission’s corporate communications, media monitoring, and financial literacy functions.


 


The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the ER Unit, contributing to the Commission’s ongoing efforts to build and maintain efficient research and communications repetiteur with internal and external audiences. Applicants should be self-motivated, capable of working effectively within a dynamic and diverse team environment and committed to delivering high-quality service.


 


The candidate must uphold the Commission’s standards of confidentiality and professionalism, demonstrate strong organisational skills, and be able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks undertaken.


 


 Duties and Responsibilities:


 



  • Assist with planning and designing presentations related to financial literacy, including Money Matters.

  • Assist with planning and executing financial literacy and other ER Unit led Money Matters sponsored events.

  • Assist with managing, disseminating and maintaining  marketing paraphernalia created and/or arranged by the ER Unit to promote Money Matters, and financial literacy projects generally.

  •  Update and monitor Money Matters social media presence and assist with other social media responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

  •  Respond to queries about Money Matters events and activities.

  • Prepare, distribute, receive and collate surveys relating to Money Matters events and/or activities and other financial literacy events.

  • Research and identify relevant financial literacy articles and tips for enhancing the work of Money Matters, including preparing reports on relevant financial literacy topics.

  • Assist to obtain quotations/invoices and prepare requisition orders relating to Money Matters and other financial literacy events as may be organised from time to time by liaising with vendors as necessary.

  • Make presentations to target audiences as needed.

  • Assist with staging of events led by the ER Unit.

  • Support the ER Unit and PDERD staff with assigned projects.

  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.


 


 


 Qualifications/Knowledge and Experience Required:


 


The minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job are as follows:


 



  • Associate Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or other relevant concentration.

  • 2-3 years administrative experience.

  • A second language is a plus.

  • Hold a driver’s license with a clean driving record of at least 2.5 years.

  • Innovative.

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality.

  • Excellent multitasking, planning, time management, typing and editing skills.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Adobe Photoshop is a plus.

  • Sound knowledge of social media operation and trends, including but not limited to FaceBook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

  8. Confidentiality – protects and does not disclose any information relating to the affairs of the Commission to any unauthorised persons in or outside of the Commission, at all times.


 


Physical Demands



The position carries with it some physical demands, including long hours on the job at times, working outdoors and offsite, operating corporate vehicles and assisting with carrying event materials.
