Role Overview - What is it?

We are seeking a commercially minded FP&A Manager and Financial Modeller to lead budgeting, forecasting, and advanced modelling efforts that drive data-led decision-making across the organisation.

This individual will be instrumental in enhancing financial planning capabilities, supporting strategic initiatives, and enabling the delivery of The Housing Network’s growth and social impact goals.

Main Duties - What needs to be done?

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts in collaboration with operational and leadership teams.
• Analyse monthly financial performance, provide insightful variance analysis, and highlight key risks/opportunities.
• Develop and refine KPI dashboards and financial reports for executive stakeholders.

1. Financial Modelling

• Build and maintain robust financial models for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
• Develop financial models to support project decisions and long-term strategic planning.
• Stress-test business plans and scenario models to assess financial sustainability and funding requirements.
• Support bid development and pricing strategies for local authority contracts and housing tenders.

1. Strategic Finance Partnering

• Act as a finance business partner to programme and operations teams, providing clear financial guidance.
• Contribute to founder briefings, board reporting and lender updates.
• Provide decision support for public body bid submissions

1. Systems and Process Improvement

• Enhance financial planning tools and automate reporting where possible.
• Support the implementation and optimisation of planning software as needed.

Competencies - Who with and your skill level?

Essential:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
• 3+ years’ experience in a financial planning and analysis or commercial finance role.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills (DCF, project modelling, scenario analysis).
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable:

• Experience in housing, social enterprise, or mission-driven organisations.
• Familiarity with funding models in affordable or supported housing.

General and Additional

• The responsibilities contained within this job description are indicative, but not exhaustive. As the role develops, the requirements of the post may change, and as such the post is subject to review in discussion with the post holder.
• The post holder may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the organisation may reasonably require which are commensurate with the grade of the post.
• The post holder shall comply with the organisation’s policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate actions and reporting protocols are followed at all times.
• The post holder shall attend regular staff or other related meetings, contributing positively where appropriate and relevant.
• Extensive travel across the UK will be required from time to time to support the delivery of role requirements, with you holding a full UK driving licence and access to private vehicle for business use when required.
• An Enhanced Disclosure is required for this position.
