Job Description - Financial Reporting Accountant

Job Description

As our Financial Reporting Accountant, you will be Preparing Together Money's external financial reporting, including the Group annual report and accounts; quarterly interim reporting and subsidiary statutory accounts and related work papers. You will also be heavily Involved in assisting in other areas such as accounting queries, day to day management of external auditors, process improvements and ad hoc projects.

Typical day to day duties include:

  • Preparation of the Group annual report and accounts, subsidiary annual statutory accounts, and quarterly external reporting to agreed deadlines and periodic financial reporting to support treasury transactions, ensuring accurate financial information is produced.
  • Co-ordination of external audit requests ensuring requests are responded to on a timely basis and accurate documentation is provided, whilst effectively communicating with the external audit team and Group Finance.
  • Production of statutory accounts work papers to a high standard and in a timely manner in accordance with reporting timetables, whilst also appropriately addressing review comments.
  • Ensuring that all areas of work involved in are well controlled, accurately prepared, documented and in line with the Financial Reporting Framework.
  • Production of ad-hoc financial information and analysis as and when required.
  • Seeking to find continuous improvements and efficiencies in current processes and effectively implementing changes where needed.
  • Effectively communicating with key stakeholders across Group Finance to ensure the correct financial information is obtained, whilst also effectively raising issues with senior managers when needed.
  • Drafting of quarterly and annual timetables, ensuring key delivery dates are met, updating on progress, and managing stakeholders across the projects

Qualifications

Candidates who can demonstrate a combination of the following skills and experience will be highly regarded:

  • Relevant experience in reporting under IFRS
  • Statutory accounting, audit or management accounting experience
  • Highly organised and efficient with an ability to work under pressure and deliver to agreed deadlines
  • Ability to work as a team, with strong communication & collaboration skills
  • Effectively communicating and managing senior stakeholders.
  • Strong focus on the quality of work with attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Desire to learn and develop new skills
