Job Summary:
To manage various project teams to safely deliver on time, to stated quality, at minimum cost and to client satisfaction. Acting as the link between the client and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing leadership and project management in all facets of the project activities to deliver the project to meet cost, time, and quality requirements.
Developing and managing effective communication and liaison with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure that requirements are identified, assessed, and appropriately integrated into the project.
Working with the client and reporting to the sector manager, responsible for helping to establish the strategy and delivery for the project.
Managing the project P&L
Working in a client facing role, responsible for leading other team members, developing the clients strategy, through to assisting in the development of the various Passive Protection solutions to satisfy both the Client and the Accreditation bodies requirements.
Developing the clients brief, delivering strategy, and leading the design management, procurement, and execution of the scheme.
Supervising and developing a high performing team that strives for quality, safety, cost, and schedule improvements at every opportunity with all delivery partners, challenging and seeking to improve the project deliverables.
Overseeing that the highest standards of health and safety are considered as a priority through all stages of the project.
Coordinating, planning, and managing internal and external meetings in relation to the project.
Driving the procurement of services and works required to deliver the project.
Providing input into client system safety and project risk assessment and management process.
Liaising with the representatives of the Industry Accreditation Scheme (FIRAS) to ensure our compliance with, and maintenance of the various scheme standards and schedules.
Maintenance of the various Supervisory competencies to maintain VVB Accreditation status
Line Management Duties:
Review competencies of all personnel within the department to ensure that all personnel have suitable training, qualifications & behaviours to ensure suitability for the role.
Accountable for the monitoring of productivity on all works.
Accountable for the creation and management of a high performing workforce within the discipline.
Accountable for the timely delivery of key HR activities within the Utilities team including annual salary and bonus reviews, appraisals, talent and succession planning etc.
Support in the creation and design of development programmes and employee upskilling activities
Ensure that own and direct reports mandatory e-learning modules and policy updates have been completed as and when required.
Manage any recruitment requirements via the ATS system.
Use the Cascade HR system to manage employee records and absences.
Familiarise and actively engage in using the Notify system and ensure direct reports are fully aware of the Notify system and use the system for Health and Safety related matters.
Have an in depth understanding of all information security projects, policies, and procedures.
Oversees and ensures that direct reports receive governance training on all information security policies and procedures.
Ensures that any update in information security policies and procedures are communicated to direct reports.
Understand the procedure for effective reporting and management of security incidents and breaches.
Day to day line management of workforce within the Sector/individual projects
Person Specification
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
Good working knowledge of BS 5893-1 and associated relevant British Standards.
Significant experience in managing clients, contractors and coordinating stakeholders.
Able to work alongside and coordinate with the project professional team to ensure a compliant system is designed and all requirements are met.
Ability to manage and motivate a team.
Ability to carry a quality inspection and generate onsite solutions to site coordination issues as they arise.
Strong interpersonal skills and a good team player.
Managing budgets and forecasting expenditure.
Key project processes such as design principals and management, construction processes, procurement, and tendering.
Excellent IT skills.
Strong project management and organisational skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, using a flexible pragmatic approach.
Understanding of industry best practice
Detailed knowledge of design process and associated compliance (Desired)
Experience of Delivery of projects from tendering through to installation, handover and certification.
Proven culture of sustainability and social responsibility
Familiar with the UK Passive Fire market
Knowledge of relevant Passive Fire Industry standards and processes
Qualifications:
BS-5839-1 Fundamentals in FD&A Units 1 & 2
BS-5839-1 Fundamentals to Advanced course
CSCS/ECS management card
Professional memberships of a relevant professional body or working towards membership is an advantage.
Full Driving License
JIB Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS

Gold card)
FIA BS5839-1 Fire Detection Systems Design, Advanced Design & Commissioning
SMSTS
Chartered Fire Engineer
Competencies / Behaviours:
Ability to work in a pressurised environment.
Effective communication skills, with excellent influencing and negotiating skills
Socially aware (knowledge of core metrics, best practice and ISO compliances)

Experience:
Experience with Network Rail, Crossrail and HS2 projects
Previous working experience in a similar role
