Pay Rate: £35,949.05 plus an additional 20% payment for hours worked between 10pm and 6am.
Contract Type: Temp to Perm
Shift patterns: 4 on, 4 off – 6pm - 6am
Location: Allington - ME16 0LE

Rapier Employment are seeking a Transport First Line Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
Oversee and support the performance of drivers to ensure they meet the established Key Performance Indicators
Ensure all transport operations are carried out in compliance with safety regulations and legal requirements, while maintaining operational efficiency.
Make necessary changes to daily transport plans if issues arise to ensure smooth operations
Proactively address and resolve any issues related to transport operations or coordination with the warehouse to minimize delays and maintain productivity.
Lead daily briefings and debriefings with drivers to communicate important updates, safety information, and expectations for the shift.
Manage Driver performance to identify any major discrepancies in accordance with the Daily Transport Plan
Ensure drivers and the fleet comply with all relevant legal, safety, and operational standards, ensuring smooth and lawful operation throughout the shift

Previous and practical experience as a Transport Supervisor or Team Leader within a logistics environment
Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain practices
Previous experience of the preparation and distribution of volume orders
Computer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software packages
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to supervise, organise and train direct reports
A recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be well-received
