Fit Out Quality Manager - Slough

A leading main contractor are seeking an experienced Fit-Out Quality Manager to join a major data centre project in Slough on a contract basis.

This is a position responsible for overseeing quality across the fit-out works, ensuring that installation, finishes and associated construction activities are delivered to the required standards, specifications and programme.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction fit-out, QA/QC and quality management, ideally gained on large-scale commercial, industrial, data centre or other technically complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

Take responsibility for quality management across the fit-out package.

*

Develop, implement and maintain Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).

*

Review approved drawings, specifications and construction documentation.

*

Ensure fit-out works are completed in accordance with project requirements and relevant standards.

*

Undertake regular site inspections and quality audits.

*

Coordinate inspections, testing and quality hold/witness points.

*

Monitor subcontractor workmanship and quality performance.

*

Review and manage ITRs, RFIs, NCRs, observations and corrective actions.

*

Identify quality issues at an early stage and drive timely resolution.

*

Work closely with subcontractors to ensure defects and non-conformances are effectively closed out.

Monitor finishes, installation quality and general workmanship.

*

Manage snagging and ensure outstanding works are closed out to the required standard.

*

Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records.

*

Ensure quality documentation is completed progressively and not left until project completion.

*

Attend quality, coordination and progress meetings as required.

*

Support internal and external quality audits.

*

Provide regular quality reporting to the project management team.

*

Ensure all quality documentation is complete and suitable for final handover.

Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a Fit-Out Quality Manager, QA/QC Manager, Quality Engineer or Construction Quality Manager.

*

Strong experience delivering quality on major construction projects.

*

A detailed understanding of fit-out and finishing works.

*

Experience managing subcontractors and specialist trades.

*

Strong knowledge of ITPs, inspection records, NCRs, RFIs, snagging and quality documentation.

*

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

*

Strong understanding of construction quality standards and inspection processes.

*

A proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues.

*

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under programme pressure.

*

Relevant construction, engineering or quality qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
