Job Description - Fleet Administrator

Our client, a leading groundworks and civil engineering contractor with over 25 years of experience, is seeking a Fleet Administrator to join their team in Northampton. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that combines scale and structure with a supportive, family-led culture, with a turnover exceeding £250 million and over 1,500 employees, they operate nationally, delivering high-volume residential groundwork packages for some of the country's most respected housebuilders.

The purpose of this role will be to assist the Fleet team in fulfilling their duties, whilst

learning all aspects of Fleet Administration. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, organised and willing to learn.

Fleet Administrator Job Overview
  • Oversee and maintain the Company Vehicle Tracker to ensure accurate, up-to-date records at all times.
  • Manage daily driver authorisation processes, including licence checks and compliance with company driving policies.
  • Support vehicle record-keeping, ensuring all documentation is logged and maintained accurately.
  • Compile and deliver monthly fleet reports to assist with strategic decision-making.
  • Assist the Fleet Controller with handling insurance claims and related documentation.
  • Process driving offences and vehicle fines efficiently, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of vehicle servicing, tyre replacements, and repairs.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Fleet and Operations team as required.
Fleet Administrator Job Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C / 9-4), including English and Maths.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a strong grasp of IT systems.
  • Prior experience in an office-based administrative role.
  • Quick to learn new systems, tools, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Able to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Fleet Administrator Salary & Benefits
  • Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 DOE
  • Discretionary bonus scheme
  • 23 days holiday plus bank holidays (rising with service)
