We’re working with an established and growing print and media business in Hove who produce high-quality printed products used within advertising campaigns for some of the world’s leading brands.
Due to continued growth, they’re looking to add a Flexographic Printer / Print Operator to their production team.
Previous flexographic printing experience would be ideal, but it isn’t essential. Our client is also happy to consider junior printers or experienced print operators from other backgrounds who have strong practical skills and are keen to learn flexographic printing.
It’s a great opportunity to join a friendly, established production environment with Monday-to-Friday day shifts, plenty of variety and the opportunity to develop your technical skills.
The Role
Working closely with the Production Manager and wider production team, you’ll be responsible for producing high-quality printed products while maintaining excellent standards around quality, efficiency, and waste.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Setting up, operating, and maintaining flexographic printing equipment
* Plate mounting and preparing presses for production
* Monitoring print quality and adjusting throughout each run
* Colour mixing and managing inks, plates, dies and materials
* Identifying and resolving print or machine issues
* Following individual job specifications accurately
* Supporting finishing processes including laminating, die cutting, perforation, slitting and folding
* Carrying out general press maintenance and clean downs
* Working to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
* Maintaining excellent housekeeping and health & safety standards
* Working with the Production Manager to improve quality, efficiency and reduce waste
About You
Ideally, you’ll already have experience operating flexographic printing equipment and be comfortable with the full process from set-up and plate mounting through to production, quality control and clean-down.
However, flexo experience isn't essential.
We’d also be interested in hearing from people with experience in:
* Digital print
* Lithographic print
* Labels or packaging
* Large format
* Other machine-based print production environments
If you’re mechanically minded, practical, have a good understanding of print and genuinely want to learn flexographic printing, full training can be provided.
You’ll need to be reliable, quality-focused, and comfortable working as part of a busy production team.
Hours & Benefits
* Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm
* Permanent, full-time position
* Competitive salary based on experience up to £35,000
* Overtime paid
* Saturday overtime required during busier periods
* Forklift and First Aid training available
* PPE / factory footwear contribution
* Employee Assistance Programme
* Company pension
* On-site parking
* Training and development available
Whether you’re an experienced Flexographic Printer looking for a better work-life balance, or you’re already working within print and want the opportunity to learn flexo, we’d love to hear from you.
