Job Description - Floorlayer

We are currently recruiting a Floorlayer to join us on a permanent basis. Working across the Bradford district, you will provide a high quality service to our customers homes, carrying out full installations and general maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out full installations and general maintenance to a high standard using  various floor coverings including carpet fitting, ply sheets, screed and level, lino, Polyflor flooring and wet rooms in our empty and tenanted properties.​
  • Assess work required and make recommendations on action to be taken, use multiskilling elements from other trades where possible  to ensure works can be completed in a timely manner. Report back if works outside of your core trade are needed in order to arrange for another team to attend. ​
  • Be part of a multi-skilled team of operatives working at a high level of performance to meet tight deadlines.​
  • Communicate the work undertaken with the customer, using empathy and patience to ensure they are satisfied and understand the process that needs to be taken.​
  • Abide by the requirements of HASAWA and all other related safety regulations. ​
  • Update system information using Dynamic Repairs Scheduler.​
  • Originate, maintain and provide updated work documentation as required.​
  • Driving to and from premises around the Bradford district.

About you

  • Honest, courteous, diligent and punctual. ​
  • Self-motivated and able to use your own initiative. ​
  • Willing and enthusiastic about undergoing training and improving on your professional skills. ​
  • Have basic IT skills to be able to update our systems via a smart phone or tablet.​
  • A great team player.
  • Enjoy liasing with customers and members of the public.
  • Able to work to deadlines and reprioritise tasks if needed.
  • A full current driving license is essential - must be able to drive manual vehicles
  • Relevant, substantial experience in prepping and laying all floor coverings​
  • An awareness of Health and Safety systems such as COSHH and HASAWA.​
  • A full set of your own tools. ​
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills including being able to listen to customer problems, empathise and be clear on what process we will undertake to fix the problem. ​
  • Delivery of a first-class repair service by carrying out your specialist trade duties either as an individual working on their own initiative or undertaking these activities and duties as a member of a specialist team.
  • Salary of £34,982 per year
