A fast paced and growing equipment solutions business is looking for experienced Field Service Engineers to support their West division. You'll be joining a long established, family run organisation with a strong reputation for quality, reliability and employee care. Equipped with modern, fully fitted service vehicles, you'll be responsible for commissioning, maintaining and servicing a wide range of equipment and plant machinery out in the field.
The Role As a Field Service Engineer, you'll deliver professional, efficient and safe maintenance services across materials handling and plant equipment. You'll work independently on customer sites, diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and ensure machinery is operating at peak performance. You'll also follow established service procedures, maintain strong customer relationships and support the wider service team.
Key Responsibilities * Commission, maintain and service equipment and plant machinery * Repair, maintain and service forklift trucks * Diagnose faults and repair/replace defective parts * Request parts via PDA * Report to the Service Co ordinator for scheduled work * Build and maintain strong customer relationships * Follow all service procedures and site Health & Safety requirements * Uphold company quality, compliance and operational standards * Pursue ongoing personal development and attend training as required * Support additional duties as needed to meet business objectives
Essential Competencies * NVQ in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) * Strong numeracy and analytical skills * Knowledge of forklift trucks * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Able to work to tight deadlines * Flexible, supportive and team focused * Courteous, friendly and tactful
Desirable Competencies * Experience in materials handling or similar industries * Working knowledge of PDA systems and Protean * Knowledge of mechanical machinery
Personal Qualities * Personable and presentable * Strong problem solving ability * Good customer service skills * Team player with excellent attention to detail
