About the Food Technology Department:

The Food Technology department is a collaborative and supportive team with a shared passion for food and nutrition. We offer a well-equipped kitchen and a stimulating curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, from basic cooking skills to advanced culinary techniques and healthy eating.

About the Role:

• Teach Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching Hospitality and Catering at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.


• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.


• Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including practical cooking sessions, demonstrations, and online resources, to bring Food Technology to life for students.


• Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.


• Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Food Technology curriculum remains relevant, challenging, and engaging.


• Foster a love of food and nutrition in students, encouraging them to develop their culinary skills, explore different cuisines, and make informed choices about healthy eating.


• Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.


• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Food Technology education.

Ideal Candidate:

• Holds QTS or equivalent.


• Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Food Technology and a passion for food and nutrition.


• Demonstrates a commitment to teaching and student success.


• Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.


• Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning
