Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Food Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in Wigan from January 2027. This is a genuine long-term vacancy, with the successful teacher expected to remain in post potentially until the end of the 2026/27 academic year.

Delivering practical and theory-based learning
Assessing pupil progress and providing effective feedback

Contributing positively to the wider life of the schoolThe successful teacher will be expected to take responsibility for the normal planning, preparation, assessment and teaching duties associated with a long-term classroom position.

The Ideal Food Technology Teacher

We are particularly interested in candidates who:

Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Have experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school
Have strong practical and theoretical subject knowledge
Can plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons
Understand appropriate food hygiene, health and safety procedures
Can effectively manage practical classroom environments
Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Can differentiate lessons to meet a range of abilities
Are confident assessing and monitoring pupil progress
Can build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
Are available to commit to a long-term position from January 2027Experienced Food Technology Teachers are encouraged to apply, along with strong ECTs who have appropriate subject knowledge and relevant secondary school experience.
