Forward Deployed Engineer - AI

Cititec are partnered with one of the most exciting AI engineering consultancies in the market, helping some of the world's largest organisations rethink how software gets built in the age of AI.

As Anthropic's first European launch partner and one of OpenAI's earliest UK partners, they're operating at the forefront of AI-native software engineering and giving their engineers exposure to tooling and capabilities before much of the wider market.

They're not building chatbots or running AI strategy workshops.

They're embedding directly into engineering organisations and helping teams adopt AI-native ways of working – everything from Claude Code and coding agents through to AI-assisted testing, automated code review and intelligent CI/CD.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll work directly with CTOs, VP Engineering and senior technical leaders to implement these changes inside real engineering environments.

This is a highly visible role combining software engineering, architecture, consulting and stakeholder management.

The ideal person is someone who's still hands-on technically but enjoys solving bigger organisational and engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

1. Lead AI-native engineering transformations within enterprise organisations
2. Design and implement modern engineering workflows powered by AI
3. Work directly with engineering teams to integrate new tooling and practices
4. Partner with CTOs, VP of Engineering and senior stakeholders
5. Drive adoption of coding agents, AI-assisted development and developer productivity tooling
6. Navigate complex enterprise environments and technical challenges
7. Act as the technical lead across client engagements
8. Help shape best practice for AI-native software engineering
