Our client is seeking to recruit a Laboratory technician to join their Food Testing team at their Linlithgow site.

Our client is one of the UK's leading Food testing companies and this role is to support the Chemistry and Microbiological testing of Food samples. No previous experience is required as the client will provide full training and support.

This role is a great opportunity for a recent graduate to gain some experience in a commercial laboratory. It is also suitable for non graduates who have an interest in science and would work well in a fast paced environment.

There are no minimum qualifications but several attributes are required:

The duties of this role will include:

Overview:
1. To work to Eurofins: Linlithgow’s Quality System showing due care and diligence in all activities.
2. To provide general assistance to Laboratory Staff at all levels.
3. To carry out housekeeping duties in line with Cleaning Schedules and other documents as required (including cleaning of equipment, floors, bins and benches when required)
4. To prepare samples for incubation as per your trained areas.
5. To assist in the preparation of microbiological culture media and record the necessary Quality Control and Performance checks.
6. To carry out all washroom duties as required being mindful of the glassware requirements.
7. To dispose of all laboratory waste in accordance with procedures.
8. To report any unsafe or poor working practices in the laboratory
9. These task sheets can never be all encompassing and hence flexibility to task is required.

This is a full time role and will be initially offered on a 8 week contract with an excellent chance of going permanent at the end of the contract.

The shift pattern will be:

40 hours per week.
Tuesday - Friday 11:00 - 19:30 Saturday 08:30 - 17:00
