Job Description - Full time Head Housekeeper required for one of our lovely clients in Chelsea


Chelsea, Central London

We are looking for a live out, full time experienced Head Housekeeper for a lovely client of ours.

The family are moving to a 6 bedrooms and 6+ bathrooms house over 6 floors in Chelsea, Central London. The family is composed of two adults and 2 children aged 4 and 2 plus a newborn due in 2026. The children have a full\-time nanny.

The family is also recruiting a Housekeeper so you will be working alongside her.

The principals are seeking an experienced, discreet Head Housekeeper to oversee the smooth day\-to\-day running of their private household. This is a senior, hands\-on role for someone who is trustworthy, professional, and exceptionally discreet, and who is confident managing a home independently while leading staff and maintaining outstanding standards at all times.

The successful candidate will combine practical housekeeping and cooking skills with strong organisational and management abilities, and will act as a key point of coordination within the household, handling all matters with absolute confidentiality and sensitivity.

 

Key Responsibilities

Hands\-On Housekeeping & Cooking



  • Provide hands\-on housekeeping support when required, particularly when the Housekeeper needs assistance

  • Cooking for the household



  • Maintain high personal standards and lead by example





Housekeeping & Property Presentation



  • Ensure the residence is maintained to an immaculate standard at all times

  • Oversee and manage all daily, weekly, seasonal, and specialist cleaning schedules

  • Ensure consistency of presentation across all areas of the home

Household Operations & Organisation



  • Coordinate daily routines, schedules, and household priorities

  • Work proactively, anticipating needs and resolving issues before they arise

  • Demonstrate excellent organisational, multitasking, and prioritisation skills

  • Manage household inventories, supplies, and basic budget tracking

  • Ensure smooth and effective communication between household staff and the Principals

 



Staff Leadership & Team Management



  • Lead, supervise and support the daily Housekeeper

  • Provide guidance and structure to ensure consistency in standards and delivery

  • Create rotas, manage holidays, and support ongoing training and development

  • Foster a calm, efficient, and respectful working environment

 

Contractor & Property Management



  • Liaise with and oversee existing contractors and service providers

  • Source and recommend trusted specialists when required

  • Oversee maintenance, repairs, and ad\-hoc household projects, ensuring work is completed on time and to a high standard

 

Entertaining & Guest Experience



  • Oversee occasional entertaining and guest visiting

  • Coordinate with chefs, suppliers, and staff to ensure flawless delivery



  • Ensure the household’s service standards are upheld during events and visits

 

Administration & Reporting



  • Maintain household manuals (where applicable), inventories, and supplier records

  • Provide clear, structured updates to the Principals

  • Ensure systems and procedures are followed and updated as needed







Working days and hours: Mon\-Fri 10am to 6pm or similar







Start: end of April 2026






Requirements



  • Proven experience in a similar senior private household role

  • Highly trustworthy, discreet, and professional

  • Strong command of spoken and written English

  • Intelligent, proactive, and confident using their own initiative

  • Able to manage and run a household independently

  • Exceptionally organised, tidy, and detail\-oriented

  • A genuine pride in cleanliness, order, and high standards

  • Hard\-working, reliable, and calm under pressure






Benefits

£50k\-£60k gross per annum depending on experience
