About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic food technology teacher to join our dynamic department within a thriving West London school.   Curriculum Delivery:
  
  
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating food technology lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum.
  
  
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students can develop their culinary skills effectively (food preparation, cooking techniques, nutrition, food safety).
  
  
  • Foster a love of healthy eating and encourage students to experiment with different cuisines and ingredients.
  
  
  
  


• 
  Curriculum Development:
  
  
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the food technology curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the school's vision, national requirements, and the latest advancements in food education.
  
  
  • Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in food pedagogy, implementing innovative approaches to enhance student learning (e.g., technology integration, project-based learning, recipe development).

  Building Relationships:
  
  
  • Build strong and positive relationships with students, fostering their confidence in the kitchen and encouraging them to explore their culinary creativity.
  
  
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to enable students to reach their full potential (individualized learning plans, targeted intervention strategies).
  
  
  • Cultivate a stimulating and safe learning environment within the food technology labs.

  Assessment and Evaluation:
  
  
  • Design and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress in practical skills, food knowledge, and theoretical understanding (practical assessments, written assignments, presentations).
  
  
  • Provide students with clear, constructive feedback that helps them improve their culinary skills and knowledge.

  Extracurricular Activities:
  • Contribute to and potentially lead extracurricular activities related to food technology (e.g., cooking clubs, food fairs, healthy eating initiatives).
