Funeral Operative

Our client is an established family run undertaker based in the Hastings and Rother area. They are currently recruiting for a Funeral Operative to join their dedicated team.

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrable experience within a similar position, be courteous and helpful to clients/mourners/members of the public and be a strong team player. You will also hold a clean Full UK Driving Licence

As a Funeral Operative you will undertake the removal of deceased with the highest level of care and dignity, assist in the mortuary areas and prepare the deceased for viewings and funerals, as well as preparation of coffins and attendance at funerals as a Pall-Bearer and Driver.

The ideal candidate will hold the following skills and experiences:

• Demonstrable experience within a similar position
• Possess good communication skills
• Be courteous and helpful to clients/mourners/members of the public
• Be a strong team player
• Hold a clean Full UK Driving Licence
• Due to duties as a Pall-Bearer you must be physically fit

Your duties as a Funeral Operative will include:

• Removal of deceased according to policies and procedures with the highest level of care and dignity
• Assisting in the mortuary areas and preparing the deceased for viewings and funerals (excluding embalming)
• Preparation of coffins
• Attend funerals as Pall-Bearer
• Driving of vehicles
• Undertaking cleaning and maintenance of company vehicles
• Participation in the out-of-hours rota (half an hour response time from first call to attending at place of death)
• Any other responsibilities at the discretion of the management

Salary and Benefits:

• £27,000 per annum
• Overtime
• Holiday entitlement: 25 days + bank holidays
• Provision of 2 black suits, 1 black overcoat and 1 pair of gloves are provided (replacement of these as necessary)

Hours:

Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5pm
