Job Description - Furniture Technician

Furniture Technician
Kettering
Hours - Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs
Salary - up to £26k

Our established client based in Kettering is seeking a hands-on and detail-focusedFurniture Technician to join their internationally recognised Furniture Department — a hub for testing, consultancy, and innovation. This is your chance to be part of a technical team that supports global manufacturers, retailers, and suppliers in ensuring the quality, safety, and performance of furniture products used around the world.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Preparing and conditioning furniture products for testing
Conducting physical testing of mattresses, cabinets, tables, and seating to UK, European, and international standards
Collaborating with team members to move and set up furniture samples
Working closely with customers to plan testing schedules and build strong relationships
Maintaining lab cleanliness and detailed training records
Hosting customer visits and supporting inspections on-site

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Essential:

GCSEs in Maths, English & Science (minimum Grade C / 5)
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent time management, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
A proactive, flexible attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Desirable:

Experience in furniture or consumer product testing
Mechanical engineering qualifications
Previous experience in the furniture industry
