FX Trader - Spot & Swaps - Investment Banking

Excellent opportunity opens for a FX Trader to join a growing International Bank to work on FX spot and derivatives trading within a dynamic and fast-paced trading environment. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of trading book positions, contribute to eFX development, and play a key role in strengthening client relationships while driving trading performance and strategy.

Main Responsibilities

1. Execute and quote FX spot and derivative transactions within defined mandates
2. Manage and, when required, take ownership of the full Trading Book positions
3. Contribute to the implementation of desk strategy and broader business plans
4. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal sales teams to drive revenue and client engagement
5. Develop and maintain relationships with external market counterparties
6. Provide market insights, analysis, and commentary to support client activity and decision-making
7. Ensure robust adherence to trading desk procedures and continuously improve processes
8. Identify, assess, and manage risks across market, credit, liquidity, operational, and compliance areas
9. Ensure full alignment with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices
10. Monitor and escalate material risk events, implementing corrective actions where necessary
11. Collaborate with data and platform providers to support trading efficiency and eFX performance

Key Requirements

1. Strong knowledge of FX products and Treasury instruments, particularly derivatives
2. Proven ability to communicate market views clearly and engage with clients effectively
3. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
4. Solid understanding of financial markets and trading environments
5. Ability to work collaboratively within a small, high-performing team
6. Strong focus on risk management and compliance best practices
7. Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems and processes
8. 5+ years’ experience trading FX products
9. Degree-level education (or equivalent)
10. Experience contributing to business strategy and growth initiatives
11. Knowledge of additional financial markets (e.g. Asian/Chinese markets)
12. Demonstrates drive, commercial awareness, and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
