A beautiful private estate in West Berkshire is seeking a Gardener to join their dedicated and experienced garden team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their horticultural career who is eager to learn and develop within a supportive and professional environment. The successful candidate will join a team of five and work under the guidance of highly skilled gardeners. The role would suit a hardworking, enthusiastic, and hands-on individual who is happy to assist wherever needed and is keen to grow their skills across a broad range of gardening and estate maintenance tasks. Flexibility and a team-spirited approach are key to success in this role. Duties will include, but are not limited to, general gardening and grounds maintenance, pruning, cleaning water features, and clearing gutters. A positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in are essential. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:45 am to 4:00 pm in winter and 7:45 am to 4:30 pm in summer, with some flexibility required. This is a live-out position, so the candidate must be local to the area or willing to relocate. In addition to the base salary, the client offers a bonus incentive, meaning you will earn an average of between £4,050 to £8,100 extra per annum, with the opportunity for this to be higher with exceptional performance. DUTIES TO INCLUDE: • General gardening and grounds maintenance • Pruning trees, shrubs, and plants • Cleaning and maintaining water features • Clearing and cleaning gutters • Assisting with seasonal tasks such as mulching, leaf clearance, and lawn care • Supporting senior gardeners with day-to-day estate work • Operating garden tools and machinery under supervision • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation across the grounds • Ad hoc maintenance tasks as required by the team ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: • Genuine interest in horticulture with some practical experience • Willingness to learn and develop within a team • Hardworking, reliable, and proactive with a "can-do" attitude • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions • Strong attention to detail and pride in work • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team • Flexibility to assist with a wide range of tasks • Must be local to Berkshire or willing to relocate • Previous experience in a similar role or horticultural studies (desirable but not essential) • A valid, clean UK driving licence and own vehicle • Fluent spoken English and the right to live and work in the UK • Excellent checkable references
