This role is aligned with Door & Hardware Federation (DHF) guidance, including DHF Code of Practice for Powered Gates and Traffic Barriers, and current UK safety legislation. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, fault diagnosis, repair, and safety compliance of automated gate systems, barriers, bollards, and associated equipment. Knowledge of roller shutters would be advantageous. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES for a Gate Automation/Service Engineer: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive service works in accordance with DHF guidance, manufacturer instructions, and company procedures. Service, maintain and fault find on systems including automated gates, automatic barriers, rising and fixed bollards. Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults safely and efficiently. Work on systems including those manufactured by DEA, BFT, FAAC, NICE, BENINCA, and SEA. I nspect, test, and verify safety devices. Carry out force testing, risk assessments, and safety evaluations in line with DHF guidance and relevant British and European Standards. · Identify non-compliant or unsafe systems and report findings in accordance with company and DHF procedures. Complete service reports, force test records, risk assessments, and job documentation accurately. Communicate professionally with customers, site managers, and colleagues. Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including safe systems of work. Participate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota when required. Ad-hoc duties as required.
