Gate & Barrier Engineer - Field-Based
Location: Midlands
Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

TXP is proud to be representing a well-established and respected provider of advanced access control and perimeter security solutions in their search for an experienced Gate & Barrier Engineer to join their Midlands-based team.

This is a field-based position focused on the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of physical security systems. The successful candidate will work on automated gates, barriers, bespoke gate systems, security fencing, railings, and automatic doors, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Installation & Maintenance

• Install and maintain automated gates, barriers, and access control systems
• Work on bespoke gates, fencing, and railing systems
• Service and repair automatic doors and related equipment

Fault Finding & Repairs

• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
• Ensure all systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational

Customer Interaction

• Liaise with clients on-site to ensure satisfaction
• Offer guidance on system upgrades and maintenance

Documentation

• Accurately complete all job-related paperwork and reports
• Maintain detailed records for compliance and future reference

• Proven experience in gate automation and barrier systems
• Knowledge of bespoke gates, fencing, railings, and automatic doors
• Familiarity with access control technologies
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Self-motivated with strong time management
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Full UK driving licence
• Relevant certifications or training in gate automation/access control
• Willingness to travel across the Midlands and occasionally further afield

• Competitive salary: £34,000 - £38,000
