Gates Team - Weston Beach Race (Saturday 17th October - Sunday 18th October 2026)

Location: RHL Marshal Registration Office, Weston Beach Race, Marine Parade, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset, BS23 1AL

Shifts:

• Sat 17th October: 07:30 – 17:00*
  

• Sun 18th October: 07:30 – 17:00*
  

*Some shifts will finish earlier or later. We'll discuss this with successful applicants. Priority will be given to applicants who can commit to the full duration of the event.

Rate of pay: £15.21 per hour (£13.57 + £1.64 holiday pay)

We're delighted to be back working with RHL Activities at Weston Beach Race 2026! 

This year marks the 43rd Weston Beach Race, one of the UK's biggest off-road motorsport events. It brings thousands of riders and spectators to Weston-super-Mare for a weekend of racing and entertainment. The race circuit is built directly onto the beach and changes throughout the weekend as the racing and the tide take their toll, making for a spectacle like no other.

Roles and Responsibilities

As part of the Gates Team, you will be the friendly and welcoming face of Weston Beach Race.

You'll be an ambassador for the client, keeping entry running smoothly and helping thousands of spectators start their weekend on the right foot.

Typical duties may include:

• Wrist-banding & ticket scanning - fitting wristbands and scanning tickets quickly and accurately as visitors arrive.
  

• Guest welcome & way-finding - greeting spectators with energy and enthusiasm, and pointing them towards viewing areas, facilities and key parts of the site.
  

• Customer service - answering questions about the event, the racing schedule, facilities or transport with enthusiasm and clarity.
  

• Queue management - keeping entry queues flowing smoothly, especially during peak arrival times.
  

• Crowd support & safety - helping people move safely and steadily around entrances and busy areas of the seafront.
  

• Problem-solving - spotting and reporting issues early, assisting anyone in need, and staying calm under pressure.
  

• Teamwork - working closely with Supervisors and fellow stewards to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience.
  

• Visitor experience - making sure every guest enjoys their day, whether it's a family at their first Beach Race or a lifelong fan back for another year.
  

Requirements

Skills and Experience

• You must have previous customer service, stewarding or similar experience
  

• Enthusiastic, polite and super confident
  

• A loud voice will be very handy!
  

• A good level of spoken English
  

• A love of working in the great outdoors
  

Candidate requirements:

• You must be a UK resident or have the right to work in the UK
  

• You must be able to provide at least two references from previous employers
  

• You must be able to work the majority of the dates listed
